2017 Municipal Election

In Alberta, General Municipal Elections are conducted every four years, under the provisions of the Local Authorities Election Act. The next general election is scheduled to take place on Monday, October 16, 2017.

Nomination Day is Monday, September 18, 2017.

Nomination Papers will be accepted on September 18, 2017 from 10:00am - 12:00pm at the Town of Legal Office, located at 5021 50 Street, in Legal.

Running for Municipal Office in Alberta (A Guide for Candidates)

Nomination Paper & Candidate's Acceptance Package

No candidate may accept campaign contributions, including the funds of the candidate unless, the candidate is registered with the municipality that they intend to run. If candidates entirely self-fund their campaign up to and including $10,000.00, they are not requried to file an otice of intent to run with the municipality.

Application for Registration of Notice of Intent to Become a Candidate for Municipal Office

Municipal Election Day is Monday, October 16, 2017. Voting will be held from 10:00am - 8:00pm at Club 60 Roses, located at 5320A 46 Street in Legal.
