Playground Assistant - (1 Position)
Duration: 4 weeks (35 hours/week) Jul 10 - Jul 21/17 & Aug 7 – 18/17

Individuals will be responsible for the care and supervision of children aged 4 to 6 yrs in the mornings (8:45am to 12:00pm) and children aged 7 to 10 yrs in the afternoon (12:45pm to 4:15pm). The applicant must possess leadership qualities, a good work ethic and be self-motivated; proficient in planning and implementing age appropriate activities for the duration of the program. Applicants must work effectively and efficiently with others or alone; experience working with children and other related experience.
Priority will be given to those who can provide certification in First Aid or willingness to obtain prior to employment date.
* In the event that we do not receive applications for the full 4 week position, 2 applicants may be considered for a 2 week interval). Please indicate which you are applying for: Full 4 weeks; Week 1&2 – July 10th to July 21st or Week 3-4 -August 7th to August 18th.


Public Works/Utility Operator Assistant – (1 Position)
Duration: 16 Wks (35 hrs/wk) May 8 - August 25/17

Under the direction of the Public Works Supervisor, the employee will be responsible and accountable for duties related to water sewer systems, road maintenance and building facilities.
Job responsibilities include: operation of light vehicles, small commercial tractors, tools and other specialized maintenance tools and equipment, minor road repair, crack sealing, crosswalk painting, pothole repairs, sidewalk repairs, inspection and inventory, inspections and installation, hydrant inspections & painting, exercising of water valves, minor repairs to buildings, inputting data on the asset management system and other related duties as assigned.
Applicant must have a strong work ethic and motivation, a valid driver’s license prior to being hired, and be a resident of Alberta. Priority will be given to post secondary students returning to school in the fall semester, experience relating to the position, and to those who can provide certification in First Aid or willingness to obtain prior to employment date.


Public Works Assistant/Playground Program Assistant Combined – (1 Position)
Duration: 8 wks (35 hrs/wk) Jul 4-Aug 25/17

Duties will include the combination of 2 positions:
Playground Program Assistant from July 10-21 and from August 7-18/17 (duties as described above) and Public Works/Utility Operator Assistant (duties as described above) from July 4–7/17, July 24-August 4/17 and from August 21-25/17.
Applicant will require certification in First Aid or willingness to obtain prior to employment date and must have a valid class 5 driver’s license prior to employment.


Office Assistant/Playground Program Leader Combined - (1 Position)
Duration: 8 wks (35 hrs/wk) Jul 4 - Aug. 25/17

Duties will include the combination of 2 positions:
Playground Program Leader (from July 10-21/17 and from August 7-18/17) which consists of planning, implementing and evaluating a leadership program for children ages 4 to 10 years old and Office Assistant (from July 4– 7/17, July 24-28/17 and from August 1-4/17) which consists of general office duties. Applicant must work effectively and efficiently with others; experience working with children.
Applicant requires certification in First Aid or willingness to obtain prior to employment date and must have a valid class 5 driver’s license prior to employment.


Parks & Recreation & Facility Operator Assistant – (1 Position)
Duration: 16 Wks (35 hrs/wk) May 8 - August 25/17

Employee will be responsible and accountable for daily maintenance of ball diamonds, the operation and maintenance of the RV & Day Use Park, Centennial & Citadel Park facilities and trail system.
Job Responsibilities include: operation of light vehicles, commercial mowers, tractors, small cutting /hedge trimming machinery, power tools and other specialized seasonal maintenance equipment, grass cutting, daily grooming of shale ball diamonds, fence repairs, inspection of playground equipment, painting, signage, carpentry, maintenance of light equipment & mowers, with construction and landscaping projects, horticulturist/arborist duties and other related duties as assigned.
Applicant must have a strong work ethic and motivation, a valid driver’s license prior to being hired, and be a resident of Alberta.
