Recreation Program Subsidy

Town of Legal residents may be eligible for a subsidy to offset the cost of children’s recreation programs. Apply in confidence at the Town of Legal Office or call 780-961-3773.

Registering for a Program

If you would like to register for any of the programs listed, please contact the Town Office. Waiver forms must be filled in upon registration of program. Registration is confirmed upon receipt of payment & waiver form prior to participation in program.

Summer Programs

Summer Playground

PEBBLE ART - Cancelled due to lack of registrations

Come join us for a great night of searching to find the perfect pebbles to create your own unique master piece! Let your imagination inspire you to create a framed picture out of pebbles, sticks and string. All materials provided.
Open to ages 12 to Adult!
Minimum 8 registrants, Maximum 15

ULTIMATE FRISBEE

Ultimate Frisbee is ULTIMATE FUN! Get your heart pumping and experience the thrill of catching the disc in the end zone to score, shaking off the defense or making the perfect pass! Ultimate can be enjoyed by all ages and skill levels and is a sport with focus on fair play and spirit of the game. Everyone is welcome*, no prior experience necessary.
Minimum 8 registrations required.
WHERE: Legal School Field (5122 46 St)
WHEN: Thursdays, July 6 to September 14
TIME: 7:00 - 9:00pm
FEE: $10.00 (GST included) and Signed Waiver form required
*Open to ages 11 to Adult
**Ages 11-15 must sign up with a parent or sibling over 15 years of age



Parent-Child Mother Goose Program

This program is for parents and/or caregivers and their children ages 0 to 3 years of age. The interactive program uses rhymes, songs and stories to engage preschool children. Parents/caregivers will have an opportunity to network, share information and support one another. (10 weeks)



Families First Parent Link Centre

Parent Link Centre - Legal School (PLC Room)

We wish to invite all parents/caregivers and children (aged 0—6 yrs) to our fall season of FREE programs!
These free programs are held in the Legal School Parent Link Centre. We offer Parent Education programs with free child care. For more information or to register, contact Families First Society @ 587-487-6176 then 780-998-5595 ext. 221.

Coffee Talk
Join us for a morning of FUN! Children and their parents/caregivers will enjoy play and crafts together.

Creative with Kids
This is a facilitated program that provides parents/caregivers with opportunities to learn creative ways to interact with their children using interactive, age appropriate crafts.

TIME: 10:00 a.m.—12:00 p.m.

Music with Munchkins
Bond and learn with you children through music.
WHERE: Legal School
WHEN: Second and fourth Thursday, from September to May
TIME: 10:00 a.m.—12:00 p.m.

Legal Community Kitchens
This is a cooking program for parents who gather for a day of meal preparation and cooking, and take home 4 nutritious meals for their families. Free childcare is provided. Program is held at Legal School. Please call Carol for more information or to register at 780-961-7634.



Sturgeon Family Literacy

Programs for families with children 0-6 years of age in the communities of Bon Accord, Gibbons, Legal, Morinville, Redwater and the Sturgeon County Area. Rhythm & Rhyme

A program designed to promote positive enjoyable interaction between parent and child 1 hour per week for 8 weeks through songs, rhymes, stories, talking and playing. The program introduces parents to various ways they can support their child’s early literacy and language experiences, and in doing so it helps promote healthy family relationships. The program facilitator also shares information about different resources within the community and area that support children’s literacy development.

Books for Babies

A facilitated 1 hour program, once a week for 6 weeks to promote the enjoyment and importance of sharing books with newborn babies up to 1 year of age.

English as a Second Language

Do you need to improve your English? English as a Second Language is offering a High Beginner and Intermediate Level program.
